Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
RunnerLap is made by Bibblo Inc. This policy explains what information RunnerLap uses, why, and the choices you have. We keep it to what the app actually does.
No sign-up
You don't need an email address or a password to use RunnerLap. The app creates an anonymous account on your behalf so your runs can be saved and shared. That account is a random identifier, not your name. You can add a name in Profile if you want other runners to see one.
What RunnerLap collects
- Routes and runs. The routes you plan, and for runs you complete: distance, time, pace, elevation and the path you ran. These are stored with your anonymous account so they appear in your log.
- Location. RunnerLap uses your location while you plan a route and while you run, to place you on the map, give directions, and track your run. It can keep tracking while your screen is locked during a run. Location is not used for advertising and is not sold.
- Your name, if you add one. It is shown to people you share a run with.
- Shared runs. When you share a route or invite runners, the route, its details, your name and the playlist you attached are stored so people with the link can open it. For group runs, each runner's name, start time and results are visible to the group, and positions are shared with the group while the run is under way.
- Live sharing for safety. If you choose to share a run live, your position and the last few minutes of your trail are sent every few seconds to a link only you create. Anyone you send the link to can open it in RunnerLap and see where you are. When the run ends or you stop sharing, your position and trail are removed, and the link stops working shortly after.
- Playlists. If you add a Spotify or Apple Music playlist, the app stores its link, name and cover image. Looking a playlist up uses the public pages of those services. If you play an Apple Music playlist from RunnerLap, it uses Apple's MusicKit with your permission and your own subscription.
- Photos. A picture you choose as a background for a run stays on your device. It is not uploaded unless you share the finished picture yourself.
- Notifications. If you allow them, the app stores a push address so we can tell you when a group run you joined is starting.
- Calendar and Health. If you add a run to your calendar, or use Apple Watch features, RunnerLap uses those permissions only for that purpose.
Who processes it
RunnerLap uses Google Firebase to sign you in anonymously, store your runs and shared runs, and send notifications. Maps and directions are provided by Apple Maps on iPhone, and by Google Maps on Android. On Android, to plan a route the app sends the points of that route, along with your anonymous account ID so we can limit how often routes are requested, through our own servers to Google, which returns the walking path; street addresses are looked up by your phone's own location services. Route elevation comes from open Terrain Tiles, hosted on Amazon Web Services: to work out the climb, the app downloads the map tiles that cover your route, which reveals the general area, but nothing that identifies you. Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store, or by Google through Google Play on Android, and we don't receive your payment details. Your information is not sold, and RunnerLap does not show ads.
Your choices
- You can turn off location, notifications, Apple Music, calendar and other permissions at any time in your iPhone or Android settings.
- You can stop a live share whenever you like from the run screen.
- In RunnerLap, open Profile, then Privacy & Data, then Delete My Data. This permanently removes every planned and logged run and your profile. There is no undo.
Keeping information
Your runs stay in your account until you delete them or delete your data. Live-share records are short-lived by design and are removed after the run.
Children
RunnerLap is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, where it makes sense, tell you in the app.
